YUCO PAM is an innovative autonomous solution for passive acoustic monitoring. Instead of carrying a single hydrophone, YUCO-PAM is a fully autonomous sound recording system integrated into the vehicle. It features an RsAqua Porpoise recorder, with user-selectable sampling frequencies of up to 384 kHz and a storage capacity of 4 TB. The recorder can be programmed independently or triggered by the AUV, allowing its recordings to be synchronised with YUCO-PAM. As a result, the YUCO-PAM micro-AUV is capable of monitoring both anthropogenic noise (drilling and pile driving, vessel engines, etc.) and conducting acoustic tracking of marine mammals, including at the high frequencies characteristic of harbour porpoises.

Thanks to the SEAPLAN software developed by SEABER, a wide range of navigation patterns adapted to noise monitoring can be used.

The YUCO-PAM micro-AUV is capable of continuous recording while navigating. It can also, in a specific mode, perform “silent” recordings at predefined locations. In addition, it can surface to obtain the GPS position of each recording. Thanks to its integrated pressure sensor and optional DVL, this micro-AUV can navigate at fixed depths or altitudes. It includes:
