The VCA (Aquadopp Current Meter Vane) is a mooring system for current meters and profilers installed at mid-water depth on oceanographic mooring lines. The different versions are adapted to various current meter models as well as to different additional sensors (conductivity, turbidity, fluorescence, etc.). It is manufactured from corrosion-resistant materials such as AISI 316 stainless steel, Delrin®, and PVC. Some VCA versions are designated as follows:

VCA-Sx for short-housing Aquadopp instruments
VCA-Lx for long-housing Aquadopp instruments
VCA-xD for deep-water Aquadopp instruments (3,000 or 6,000 metres)
