DeepWater Buoyancy’s trawl-resistant system is designed to protect instrumentation in areas where fishing activity may pose a risk. The AL-200 and AL-500 trawl-resistant systems, rated for depths of 200 m and 500 m respectively, consist of a floating recovery capsule and an aluminium base. The capsule is released via an acoustic release (not included) and deploys a Spectra recovery line to the surface. By hauling in the line using a winch, the base can be lifted back onto the vessel.

All models are manufactured from 5000-series aluminium and high-strength DeepTec® syntactic foam. An additional solution for moorings down to 1,000 m is available on request.
