The Nortek Signature55 is the first instrument in the new Signature series. It uses AD2CP technology to achieve the widest range Nortek offers in Doppler current profilers, reaching up to 1,000 metres.

This dual-frequency 55/75 kHz instrument is a true broadband system and represents the introduction to the market of a range of features and benefits carefully developed with the needs of scientists and engineers in both research and offshore industry applications in mind.

Among its advantages, Signature55 offers an Ethernet interface, post-processing calibration capability, seasonal configuration of the mooring plan, construction with piezo-composite transducers and operation at an optional frequency of either 55 or 75 kHz, thereby extending its measurement range.

Typical applications include ocean circulation studies (including boundary currents, basin exchanges and transport processes in polar regions), numerical model calibration, monitoring of loads on pipelines in offshore platform operations, tracking the transport of contaminants from open sea, coastal developments or drilling activities, and studies related to renewable energy.
