The Nortek Signature250, from Nortek’s new Signature series, uses AD2CP technology to profile currents over a range of up to 200 m. It measures waves, ice thickness and ice drift from depths of up to 150 m.
This instrument is a true broadband system operating at an acoustic frequency of 250 kHz. It offers a set of features and benefits that have been carefully developed with the needs of scientists and engineers working in both research and offshore industry in mind.
Among other advantages, the Signature250 features an Ethernet interface, post-processing calibration capability, and the ability to define seasonal, alternating or concurrent mooring configurations. It is built with piezo-composite transducers and has a weight of just 1.5 kg in water (without batteries) and a height of only 55 cm.
Its applications include ocean circulation studies, such as boundary currents, basin exchanges and transport processes in polar regions; studies of sea ice draft variability and ice drift; deep-water climate studies; and more.
