Teledyne Benthos acoustic release designed for shallow-water operations, with a maximum operating depth of 500 m.

The R500 operates in the 9 to 14 kHz frequency band, features a release load of 225 kg, a working load of up to 455 kg, and an acoustic range of up to 2 km. Manufactured in PVC, it has a weight of 5.9 kg in air and 2.1 kg in water, and a receiver autonomy of 2 years. It is compatible with the UTS-9500 and ReleaseIt deck units.
