The DeepWater Buoyancy Benthic Lander allows the deployment of instrumentation at depths of up to 6,000 m. Its design enables the installation of a dual acoustic release system. It is highly customisable and can accommodate a wide variety of instruments.

The Benthic Lander remains on the seabed until the acoustic releases are activated, triggering ballast release and subsequent ascent to the surface due to positive buoyancy. The base structure is manufactured from 5000-series aluminium, and the recovery buoy is made of solid DeepTec® syntactic foam with an abrasion-resistant finish and, unlike flotation spheres, with no risk of implosion. The remainder of the structure is made of AISI 316 stainless steel with an electropolished finish, providing excellent corrosion resistance.
